A Web-based Tool for Searching in Polyphonic Music full presentation paper journal ppt Abstract: PROMS, a computer-music service under development at the University of Bonn, Germany, aims at designing and implementing Procedures for Music Search. This paper discusses an algorithm for searching a music pattern, e.g., a melody or a sequence of chords, in a large database of polyphonic music, given in a score-like format. Our algorithm is a variant of the now classic inverted index approach for text retrieval. A prototype is implemented and its performance investigated. Finally, we brie y indicate how to extend this technique to a fuzzy search, to a search with up to k mismatches, and to transposition-invariant search. RETRIEVING WEB IMAGES TO ENRICH MUSIC REPRESENTATION paper full journal ieee ppt Abstract: Audiovisual media which integrates visual media with audio to enrich music representation, such as music video (MV) or music slideshow, is now more welcome than only audio. In this paper, we proposed a novel approach to automatically retrieve web images appropriately suitable to a given music song. In this approach, an imageability measurement is first proposed to select those meaningful words and phrases from lyrics, as queries for further image search. Then, considering the possible ambiguities of queries may cause web image search engines to return images with various semantic concepts, we also introduced a search result clustering (SRC) - based strategy to select those images which are more likely to be relevant to the content of music, using a naïve Bayesian inference. Preliminary evaluations of the proposed approach on around 100 popular English music songs have shown promising results.

Automated Music Video Generation Using Web Image Resource
In this paper, we proposed a novel prototype of automated music video generation using web image resource. In this prototype, the salient words/phrases of a song's lyrics are first automatically extracted and then used as queries to retrieve related high-quality images from web search engines.To guarantee the coherence among the chosen images' visual representation and the music song, the returned images are further re-ranked and filtered based on their content characteristics such as color, face, landscape, as well as the song's mood type. Finally, those selected images are concatenated to generate a music video using the Photo2Video technique, based on the rhythm information of the music. Preliminary evaluations of the proposed prototype have shown promising results.

This paper proposes a study of personal verification and identification using hand geometry. Hand geometry used consists of the lengths and widths of fingers and the width of a palm. Users can place their hands freely without the need for pegs to fix the hand placement. In this method, systems using six different distance functions were tested and compared. Test data are from 96 users. Among the six different distance functions, S1 gives the best results in both verification and identification.

This paper primarily aims at the new technique of video image processing used to solve problems associated with the real-time road traffic control systems. There is a growing demand for road traffic data of all kinds. Increasing congestion problems and problems associated with existing detectors spawned an interest in such new vehicle detection technologies. But the systems have difficulties with congestion, shadows and lighting transitions.
              Problem concerning any practical image processing application to road traffic is the fact that real world images are to be processed in real time. Various algorithms, mainly based on back ground techniques, have been developed for this purposes since back ground based algorithms are very sensitive to ambient lighting conditions, they have not yielded the expected results.  So a real-time image tracking approach using edged detection techniques was developed for detecting vehicles under these trouble-posing conditions.
              This paper will give a general overview of the image processing technique used in analysis of video images, problems associated with it, methods of vehicle detection and tracking, pre-processing techniques and the paper also presents the real-time image processing technique used to measure traffic queue parameters.
